At IIT BOMBAY, we had a session of CEO connect with Vineet Rao who is Founder and CEO of DealShare company which is unicorn company of India.
He had done graduation from IIT BOMBAY in Computer science 2000 batch.
His journey: After graduation he went for corporate life. He worked at Microsoft for 10 years in US. He was interested in entrepreneurship, starting a business since he passout. Normal question every one have that as a student we don't have that much money 💰 to solve a big problem. When he passout that time there were not much craze of start-up in India. But nowadays Yes 😁.. even Modi ji every time in his speech mention about start-up of India (Atmanirbhar Bharat).. Which will definately motivate people to start a start-up. He resigned from Microsoft and started his own start-up. In less than 4 years, His company named as a fifth unicorn 🦄 of India. It is a big achievement for any entrepreneurs.
Today we had alumination program, where most of the alumni come at campus & interact with students. The best of part of IIT life is connecting with almuni network.
He gave some advice....
1) If you want to start a business then understand the Market carefully..
Coming into Market at right time is more important than idea...
Why Facebook, Google is so successful!!! When there was dot com craze in the US. These company entered in the market around 20 years ago... And we all Know where it is....
2) if you pick-up any problem to solve for people then do validation of your Model..
Do Market calculation, it's Target 🎯 audience, competitor, whether it is profitable business...
3) Challanges always come in the starting phase... Even Amazon was started from Garage & Facebook at standford only..

Most of people have questions that how to find the big problem that can be solved 😃 which will be the unique and disrupt the whole Market??
( I have been same question since 2018 .... But did not get the answer yet 😂)...
Bhavish Agarwal (OLA) answered this question that back 2006-2010 he had faced a problem of finding a taxi and auto at Mumbai when he was at IITB... & Yes, he solved the big problem...
Vineet Rao answered that look at our parents where he does not know that how internet works and all about technology...
They only know about the how to use WhatsApp and social media 😅.. then he asked the question to people and analyze many people of tier-2,3 city of India.. what makes them more viable? Generally people have tend to buy good quality products with lower price.. & so he started supplying grocery item through app called DealShare(model is unique compare to their competitors)..
After the end of formal session, few students interacted with him informally and we asked some of the doubts to him.. he was keen to answer it. He wait & answered till 1 hour after the session 🤠..
The interesting fact is that one person(looks old) stand next to me who was asking a question frequently to CEO & conversation went good.. In last that person told that he also graduated from IITB computer science 1995 batch and done his higher graduation at Standford 😮 afterwards worked at Oracle US.. (Everyone was amazed 😮 ) ... Then CEO himself asked for their mobile number 😅...
